18-year-old Anna lives with her father, Robert—both trapped in the unresolved trauma of her mother's accidental death two years ago. While Robert gets by working at a slaughterhouse, Anna runs the household. But their fragile relationship begins to falter when she commits herself to rescuing a runaway cow. While Robert is forced by his boss to coordinate the hunt for the animal, Anna manages to hide it in the woods. Driven by nightmares and mounting desperation, she plunges into a deep psychological crisis. Ultimately, a dramatic discovery forces father and daughter to finally confront their repressed past and the grief of losing her mother.
